The 17th edition of the Dubai International Boats Show is gathering momentum in the lead up to the official opening in just under a weeks time, from 3-7 March 2009.

The State of Florida’s recreational boating and marine industry sectors continue to be leaders worldwide with record breaking increases in exports. In spite of the difficult economic situation we are facing domestically, Florida exports of yachts, motorboats and other vessels grew over 270% last year alone to the United Arab Emirates which is why Enterprise Florida is returning to Dubai Boat Show with an even greater presence than last year. ‘’We’ve doubled our floor space and expanded from one to two pavilions to help emphasise our position as the leading U.S. state for the marine industry with representation of 22 Florida based businesses, ranging from yacht builders to designers, composite catamarans, fishing equipment, boat lifts, yacht transport and more’’, said Julie Balzano, Director for Mexico & Marine Industry Sector, Enterprise Florida.

French companies in the UBI France pavilion, will present a wide range of services, including yacht design, brokerage and equipment manufactures, present in 2 areas of the show for 2009, the Luxury Supplies & Services and Equipment Supplies and Services areas. Australian marine manufacturers and service providers will again have strong representation at the Dubai International Boat Show via their presence within the Australian Pavilion, organised by the Australian International Marine Export Group (AIMEX). The Australian contingent is growing in size and cements Australia’s position as a key player in the global market.
‘’Twenty-nine Australian marine industry companies will be represented at the show, staged 3 – 7 March. The show will be a premier platform for AIMEX members to take advantage of opportunities in the emerging Gulf marine market.
